Grand Trunk Extra 2682 west headed into Grand Trunk connecting track,

Ashley, stopping with fourth car from rear spotted at freight house door to

unload freight. The last car in this train was wooden constructed coach 3660

and rear of this car stood on frog of Grand Trunk connection with Ann Arbor

maintrack. Ann Arbor Extra 2490 (TF-3) collided with rear end of Grand Trunk

extra due to Ann Arbor engineer failing to approach and pass through yard

limits under control.

of conductor to accurately note the number of cars passing him while

shoving into port wing track, cars stuck bumping block, knocking the

bumping block out, bending ladder on west end of AT&SF 140526, bending

grab iron on side of car and taking board off NYC 86309

Yard engine 2180, backing up, pulling 2 cars, was moving east enroute from

boat landing yard to Frankfort and when within approximately 150 ft. of

Junction switch observed the headlight of train TF-1, extra 2482 west

approaching. Yard engine stopped within approx. 100 ft., reversed direction

and had moved westward approx. 40 and while moving at speed of 2 to 3

MAH was struck by TF-1, extra 2482 west, moving at a speed of approx. 20

MAH, moving westward a distance of 306 ft. before coming to a stop.

Engine 2490 arrived Frankfort on TF-5, cut off about 21 car lengths from

east end track No. 6 and moved light at low speed through No. 6 and at west

end onto the so-called main track. Yard crew was pulling boat load from

west slip up into No. 10 track and engine 2490 moved out foul of No. 10

track, sideswiping sixth car from rear of a 26 car cut pulling into No. 10

track, turning over N&W 58035 empty hopper, damaging N&W 57789 empty

gon and NYC 641584 empty gon; also damaging left side front of engine

Yard crew in switching the yard had been in coal dock track and gone back

down the main track. While they were gone hostler and helper moved engine

2490 off turntable and lined switches for movement of this engine. Yard

crew returning did not notice the switches had been lined against them and

shoved a car of sand, Wabash 13684, into engine 2490.

Yard engine No. 1 ran through rip track switch to main line, Owosso, and left

the switch unprotected while they went to notify section men. Engine 2218

being handled by hostler, when returning from the wye, was derailed at this

switch due to it having been run through.
